Cars Downunder is here for your backpacker needs. Our terms & Conditions are meant to be clear and concise and as simple as possible to avoid misunderstandings. We have built our business around our experience with backpackers buying cars since 2012.
Payment: Payments can be made in cash, bank cheque or direct deposit and all payments must be in AUD.
Transfer: All cars sold through Cars Downunder will include help with the paperwork and transfer of the car to your name. At the point of transfer you will be responsible to pay the Duty (3-4 depending on vehicle%) and the transfer fee ($26.20) to Queensland transport department to change the car into your name.
Maintaining you vehicle after purchase: As the owner of the vehicle it is your responsibility to maintain it to ensure it runs properly at all times. The investment on maintenance will reduce the potential of breakdowns and expensive repairs in the future, It helps to maintain roadworthiness and contributes to greater reliability, economy and resale value. Some maintenance is very easy to do - topping up your oil, coolant, check water levels - all these easy checks will increase the life of your car. Larger problems need looking at by a professional, so if you are in doubt call a mechanic or your roadside assistance.
Fluids: It is the drivers responsibility to check fluid levels DAILY and top up immediately if needed. If your car needs water topped up, you need to get it checked by a mechanic as topping it up does not fix the issue of why it is losing fluids.
Fuels Do not use ethanol fuels! E10 / E85. These may cause serious damage to your vehicle and will void the warranty.
Overheating: Overheating is the number 1 problem in engines. If the car overheats - stop immediately, investigate and contact a mechanic or roadside assistance to look at it. Driving it when it cools down again may cause major damage to the engine, and you will be responsible for damages caused.
3 Day 100% money back gaurantee: We will refund 100% of the car price if there is a serious mechanical issue with your purchase. Before 100% refund is authorised, vehicle check by our mechanic will be required. If the problem cannot be rectified your refund will be granted. We do not offer refunds without genuine mechanical concerns. Car must be returned to the pickup location within 3 days of purchase.
14 Day Warranty: We will rectify within reason the problem which may arise during the first 14 days. Parts and labour are free to the claim limit. To receive this warranty you need to return the vehicle within the 14 day period to the purchase location. In the case of 4x4 the warranty will be void if used offroad.. Excludes work required due to damage, misuse, neglect of vehicle since date of sale. We do not pay repairs if you do not bring the car back to us.
You will maintain the vehicle through regular routine maintenance/including fluid levels. If you fail to contact us before repairs are made your warranty may be voided. Towing costs are at your expense. If you ignore the engine overheat gauge fitted in your car and continue to drive the vehicle you will break your engine and void your warranty. Warranty is valid for original purchaser - once transferred warranty does not transfer again to a different owner.
Claim Limit: All vehicles are limited to a claim limit of up to $1000 in total.
